• Further journals: Directory of Open Access Journals lists journals (irrespective of the contracts of the SUB), which are completely open access or concede an open access option to their authors (hybrid journals). Here you will find numerous journals, too, which do not levy charges.

Scientific articles, which are freely accessible via the internet (Open Access), have every prospect of being retrieved, read and cited. This may enhance the impact factor many times over. Therefore many publishing houses offer the opportunity to their authors to publish their articles in the open access way.

In order to open new possibilities of accessing information for scientists and students Goettingen University supports open access publishing activities (Resolution of the managing board, November 2005 (PDF-file, in German)). SUB Goettingen underpins this process by contracts of cooperation with publishing houses, in order to relieve the authors and to secure central and economical accounting.
