The Medical Library (BBM) supplies information and literature on human medicine and dentistry.

Our services
We are happy to assist you with any questions you may have about the use of the library and to assist you in finding and borrowing specialist literature.
We offer:
- freely accessible and systematically categorised monographs, textbooks, periodicals, manuals and encyclopedias
- 202 individual work places
- 40 group work places
- a lounge area
- 1 self-check terminal
- 8 PCs with access to the catalogue of the Göttingen State and University Library, and other catalogues and databases
- 4 PCs for accessing online periodicals
- 36 PCs for online research and research in the CD ROM network of the Göttingen State and University Library with several hundred specialist databases
- 5 black & white copiers (card- and coin-operated)
- 1 colour copier (coin-operated)
- 1 printer (for Göttingen students only)
- 1 scanner (for Göttingen students only)
Most monographs and textbooks can be taken out on loan.
Periodicals published prior to 1986 are located in closed stacks, but can be made available by request.
Our services of the BBM a medical video library comprising around 2,600 video titles (VHS) that can be taken out on loan.
Literature not available at the Göttingen State and University Library can be ordered by way of inter-library loan or document delivery services.

By public transport
From the train station
The bus lines 8 (direction Weende-Ost) and 12 (direction Holtenser Berg) depart from the bus terminal at the train station and go to the stop Klinikum.
From the city centre
The bus line 8 (direction Weende-Ost) departs from the stops Kornmarkt and Jüdenstrasse, and goes to the stop Klinikum.
Walk a few metres back from the direction of the bus to the stairs (a lift is located on the opposite side). The main entrance to the University Medical Center is at the top of the stairs. The way to the library is sign-posted.

By car
Leave the motorway A7 via the exit 'Göttingen-Nord'. Follow the B27 in the direction 'Duderstadt/Göttingen-Nord/Braunlage' for about 4.5 km. Turn right into the driveway towards the University Medical Center. Keep right after about 150 m to enter Robert Koch Strasse, and turn left at the crossroads after about 600 m towards the University Medical Center.
The parking facilities here are pay-parking only.
