vifanord - Virtual Library of Northern European and Baltic Studies serves as a central collection and internet guide of scientific information on this cultural region.
The regional scope streches from Iceland and the Faroe Islands in the west to Estonia in the east and from (Norwegian) Svalbard in the north to the Danish-German border in the south, including Baltic Sea cultural studies and Hanseatic topics.
vifanord is a joint development of three major German academic libraries with traditional competences in Northern European and Baltic Studies: Greifswald University Library (of 1604), Kiel University Library (of 1665) and Göttingen State and University Library (of 1737) in cooperation with several partner institutions.
