 The Frankfurt Group is a European forum for academic and research information, 
 representing key players in the information chain.

 

 Founded in May 2001, the Frankfurt Group continues the work of the European 
 Commission funded TECUP project. The Frankfurt Group creates a unique space 
 for progressive discussions between representatives of organisations involved in 
 the publication and distribution of academic and research information in Europe.

 Members of the Group include representatives of authors (EWC), publishers &
 booksellers (ALPSP, German Publishers' and Booksellers' Association, STM),
 libraries (EBLIDA, LIBER, SCONUL, DNB), information & research centres (EMBO, INIST), rights organisations (Kopiosto, VG Wort) and subscription agencies and
 intermediaries (ASA).

 The Frankfurt Group meets 3-4 times a year at the Deutsche Nationalbibliothek in 
 Frankfurt a. M.

  • Retrodigitisation by libraries and publishers

  • Open access publishing

  • Digital rights management systems

  • International document supply

  • National deposit of digital material
