Details of the project

The project „Metrics of Success for the Planning and Sustainable Operation of Virtual Research Environments  (DFG-VRE)“ is supported by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and coordinated by the Research and Development Department at Göttingen State and University Library (SUB Göttingen). The project is being conducted in cooperation with the Leibniz Institute for Astrophysics Potsdam and the Robotics Research Institute at the Technical University Dortmund.

This project will analyze the experience of various stakeholders in the development and operation of virtual research environments. Based on the results of this analysis both general and specific factors for success will be developed. From the moment the virtual research environment is created, these factors should contribute to the success of a project or support the assessment of already existing infrastructures (depending on the stakeholder, the discipline and the specific use case).
