From 19 May to 26 June, the Central Library will be hosting the travelling exhibition “The Nazi ‘Euthanasia’ Murders”. This mobile, accessible exhibition from the Memorial and Information Centre for the Victims of the Nazi ‘Euthanasia’ Murders at Tiergartenstraße 4 in Berlin provides information on the systematic persecution and murder of sick, disabled and socially stigmatised people under National Socialism. Across ten sections, it examines the background, organisation and execution of these crimes. The exhibition was organised in collaboration with Prof. Dr Silke Schicktanz from the Institute for Ethics and History of Medicine at Göttingen University Medical Centre.
During the same period we are presenting the poster exhibition “500 Years of Books in Latvian – Reading Riga” in the foyer of the KWZ (Kulturwissenschaftliches Zentrum). The exhibition tells the story of Latvian book culture and invites visitors to rediscover Riga as a city of books and literature.
Admission to both exhibitions is free. They can be visited during the buildings’ opening hours.
