Publishing digital editions and corpora in the TextGrid Repository (English)

Course Content

The Text Encoding Initiative (TEI) is one of the most widely used technologies in the humanities and digital humanities for encoding texts and metadata. In numerous projects, not only literary texts are encoded in TEI, but also other types of documents such as digital editions, linguistic research data, historical sources, etc. The Göttingen State and University Library (SUB) is actively involved in advising and supporting researchers in these fields; amongst other things, the SUB is continuing to develop the TextGrid Repository, a repository for TEI- and XML-encoded documents from corpora, collections or digital editions.

The session is divided into two blocks, each with a specific objective: In the first part (10:15-11:00), the TextGrid Repository will be introduced and the import workflow briefly explained. The second part (11:00-11:45) offers the opportunity to briefly present your own materials (language of the texts, number of documents, project status, specific features) and to receive personalised advice on publication and the import process. It is possible to attend only the first session.
