From today until Wednesday, the SUB Göttingen is hosting the final conference of the EU-funded CRAFT-OA project. Under the title "Crafting the Future of Diamond Open Access: Technical, Social & Political Perspectives of Scholarly Publishing", around 140 participants from all over the world will be discussing the future of scholarly publishing in Göttingen.
Göttingen University Press is publishing the first issue of 2023 (Vol. 12) of the musicological journal ‘the world of music (new series)’ for the first time in full Diamond Open Access, i. e. without fees for authors. Since 1959, the international journal of cultural musicology has published research and theoretical interventions on music and dance around the world.
On 1 January 2023, the EU project CRAFT-OA started under the leadership of the University of Göttingen / Göttingen State and University Library (SUB Göttingen) with 23 partners in 14 European countries. CRAFT-OA stands for ‘Creating a Robust Accessible Federated Technology for Open Access’.
The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is funding the Germany-wide collaborative project open-access.network for another three years with around 2.6 million euros. In the second project phase, the Göttingen State and University Library (SUB Göttingen) is again responsible for technical provision and public relations.
