OpenAIRE (Open Access Infrastructure for Research in Europe) is a three-year project funded under the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) of the European Commission. 

The main goals of OpenAIRE are to:

  • support researchers in complying with the EU’s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) Open Access Pilot and the ERC Scientific Council Guidelines for Open Access through a European Helpdesk System; 
  • support researchers in depositing their research publications in an institu¬tional or disciplinary repository if available, or in the OpenAIRE Orphan Repository (hosted by CERN);
  • build up an OpenAIRE portal and e-infrastructure for repository networks; 
  • explore scientific data management services together with five disciplinary communities.
