Digitalisierung der Kopialbücher der Universität Göttingen

As the first German university to be run entirely as a state institution, the Georgia Augusta’s affairs were largely directed from Hanover between 1734 and 1866. The university transcribed the written directives received from Hanover into a series of handwritten copy books, which paint a comprehensive and detailed picture of the university’s academic and social history.
These copy books are being digitized to a high standard. Following digitization, the documents they contain will be cataloged in terms of content—with funding from the German Research Foundation (DFG)—and the resulting structural data will be embedded within the digital copies. Upon completion of the project, all data will be accessible via the Göttingen Digitization Centre portal.
