Erschließung der Akten der Forstlichen Fakultät und Forsthochschule Hann. Münden

A Prussian forestry academy was founded in Hann. Münden in 1868. In 1939, this institution was incorporated as a faculty into the University of Göttingen, which consequently stands today as an internationally renowned center for forestry science. The University Archive at the Göttingen State and University Library (SUB Göttingen) has recently acquired the faculty’s archival records, which date back to 1868. These records constitute a primary source for the history of the university, the region, and forestry.
The files are being cataloged in analytical detail at the level of individual proceedings and will subsequently be searchable via the Arcinsys Lower Saxony archive portal. In collaboration with the Faculty of Forest Sciences and Forest Ecology, forest historian Dr. Peter-Michael Steinsiek is also analyzing the content of the files as part of the project. This undertaking is made possible by grants from the VGH Foundation and the Calenberg-Grubenhagensche Landschaft.
