A Film About the Training

Vocational Training as a Media Designer – Image and Sound

Prerequisites

An intermediate school leaving certificate or A-levels are required for the apprenticeship. Good math skills are an advantage, technical affinity is a basic requirement, as media designers work with editing software, camera and sound equipment on a daily basis. On a personal level, diligence, an independent way of working, creativity and a high level of motivation and commitment are important. A strong customer and service orientation is also particularly important in everyday working life.

Training Duration and Content

The training is state-recognized and lasts three years. At the SUB Göttingen, it is part of the video team. Trainees support the video team in the production of e-lectures in their own green screen studio, but also learn how to independently conceptualize, record and edit video contributions for research, teaching and public relations. The theoretical content is taught in block modules at the multi-media vocational schools in Hanover.

Remuneration and Working Environment

The training allowance is based on the collective agreement of the federal states (TVA-L BBiG). After the apprenticeship, there is the possibility of acquiring the master craftsman qualification "Certified Master of Media Production Image and Sound" with at least one year of professional experience.

Application

One training position is offered per apprenticeship year. The position is usually advertised in September of the previous year.
