Elsevier

A contract based on the read-and-publish model was concluded between the publisher Elsevier and the DEAL project. This includes the following points, which apply to the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and the University Medical Center Göttingen within the scope of participation in the contract.

Time period: 2024-2028

Title lists

The DEAL Elsevier contract applies to approx. 1,800 Elsevier Core Hybrid journals, approx. 50 titles of the Cell Press (CP) and The Lancet (TL) brands and approx. 660 Gold Open Access journals. A current allocation can be found in the title list. The assignment of the titles is shown in the 'Bucket' column in the 'included' spreadsheet.

Hybrid Open Access

In all journals marked with 'Core Hybrid' or 'CP/TL Hybrid' (table sheet 'included', column 'Bucket'), publishing is free of charge for all authors with an affiliation with the University of Göttingen (incl. UMG). The costs of the publication process are financed centrally by the University of Göttingen via the DEAL participation fee.

Gold Open Access

In all journals marked with 'Core Gold' or 'CP/TL Gold' (table sheet 'included', column 'Bucket'), publishing is discounted for all authors with an affiliation with the University of Göttingen (incl. UMG).

  • Core Gold: 20 % discount on the list prices
  • CP/TL Gold: 15 % discount on the list prices

The remaining publication costs for 'corresponding authors' of the University of Göttingen (including the University Medical Center Göttingen) can be financed in full or in part via the publication fund for journal articles of the University of Göttingen. The funding requirements with funding information are listed under 'Financial support through university funding'.

The publication process for authors

Authors indicate the 'corresponding author' at the beginning of the submission process. This author must have an affiliation with the University of Göttingen (incl. UMG) so that the conditions listed on this page can be applied.
