The broad spectrum of methods associated with artificial intelligence is fundamentally changing the way information is handled and increasingly shaping scientific work. The role of libraries is also changing: they are evolving from mere mediators of knowledge to active designers of modern, digital research environments. Libraries are thus becoming places where AI-supported research, analysis and processing processes are not only used, but also critically reflected upon, accompanied and responsibly developed.
