Dissertations and Theses
The SUB Göttingen supports graduates of Georg-August University of Göttingen in publishing their theses by offering advisory services and providing the eDiss repository and the publication management system GRO.publications.
eDiss Repository
PhD students of the University of Göttingen can publish their dissertation digitally on the eDiss repository of the SUB Göttingen and thus fulfill their publication obligation. This also applies to cumulative dissertations. Please observe the publication regulations of your valid doctoral degree regulations and, in case of doubt, consult your examination office or the doctoral committee.
Your publication in the eDiss repository will automatically receive a persistent identifier, the Digital Object Identifier (DOI), and an Open Access compliant license, unless you choose otherwise. If required, we can advise you on license issues and good scientific practice. We can provide you with detailed help on this FAQ site .
Habilitation theses can be published on the eDiss repository without a recommendation. However, please contact the eDiss team (ediss@sub.uni-goettingen.de).

Cumulative Dissertation
Doctoral students at many faculties can choose whether they want to write their dissertation as a monograph or as a cumulative dissertation. In a cumulative dissertation, articles that have been published in specialist journals are combined into a single dissertation. Particular attention must be paid to questions regarding the subsequent use of the individual articles.
If you have any questions regarding the reuse of your articles, please contact publizieren@uni-goettingen.de.
