Digital editing opens up new ways of working and researching. Editing projects can be worked on more easily and efficiently in a collaborative and location-independent manner. Research results can be accessed online at any time and by anyone via an online portal.
Service Digital Editions
Based on our many years of experience in setting up and developing digital research infrastructures for scientific data, we offer a broad portfolio of services ranging from advice on applications, modeling, presentation and documentation to the long-term archiving of research data.
In many humanities disciplines, editions form an integral part of basic research and are the basis for numerous research questions based on the sources. Digital editions overcome many of the limitations of book printing and thus counter many of the basic problems of conventional printed editions.
For example, digital editions enable
- the synoptic representation of textual witnesses,
- the presentation of different representations of a text (facsimile, transcription, diplomatic copy, translation, etc.),
- the use of dynamic forms of presentation, e. g. text comparisons based on words, lines, sections, etc., and
- linking to external resources such as the Intergrated Authorithy File (GND).
