Information at our service desks

You can of course obtain information and answers to your service enquiries at the service desks in the Central Library, the Historical Building and the Forestry, Physics, Cultural Studies and Economics & Social Sciences Divisional Libraries as well as in the Medical Library and the Waldweg Library.

Advice by email and telephone

We are of course also available during our opening hours Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 18:00 by phone at +49 551 39-25231 (Tel.) and answer email to the information (email). If necessary, we will also be happy to put you in touch with contact persons at the Göttingen State and University Library. We also answer questions that go beyond library issues. Our information service is free of charge and available to all interested parties.

Online Research Support (subject-specific, individual topics)

If you have any questions concerning

  • subject-specific literature search,
  • writing a term paper or thesis,
  • reference management (Citavi, Zotero, Endnote, LaTeX),
  • formatting with MS Word / Excel,

Please contact Written Information, where we will be happy to help you. Please note that there are different contact persons for our modern and our historical holdings. 

We will assist you in preparing for your visit to the Göttingen State and University Library, help you with your questions about photocopy and scanning requests and advise you on the options that best suit your needs. Please consult our current price list for photocopy and scanning requests.

Do you need reproductions of entire works or of individual images from our holdings for printing purposes?

Please submit a simple request (email) for reproduction permission and state their proposed use. It is usually possible to grant your request by return mail.
