Redesign of the Waldweg library from 8 August until the beginning of October

As part of the redesign measures in the Waldweg library, the redesign of the reading room has been almost finished. Lending operations are maintained on normal standards. The attractive study room has been reopend for the winter semester 2025/26.

Our services

We are happy to assist you with any questions you may have about the use of the library and to assist you in finding and borrowing specialist literature.

We offer:

  • freely accessible and systematically arranged media from the fields of subject didactics and psychology, as well as holdings from the fields of educational science and sports science in stacks, available for online ordering
  • databases infosystem
  • electronical periodicals
  • individual workplaces
  • two group study rooms for a maximum of 6 persons on the ground floor. One with a Monitor
  • PCs for catalogue research
  • Stud IT workplaces with Windows or Linux OS
  • WiFi web-access
  • printing, copying and scanning facilities
  • semester reserves
  • library tours

Circulation:
The majority of the holdings can be taken out on loan for a period of four weeks. The remainder can be taken out on loan for short period of two days or over the weekend (with the exception of periodicals, encyclopedias, and loose-leaf publications).
Literature not available at the Waldweg Library can be ordered by way of inter-library loan or document delivery services.

The Waldweg Library holdings can be researched in GöDiscovery and in its own catalogue. This catalogue is part of the Göttingen University Catalogue (GUK).

By Public Transport

From the train station

Take the bus line 41 (Weende-Ost) from the train station to the stop "Humboldtallee". Keep left towards the traffic lights and Nikolausberger Weg. Then turn left to reach the Waldweg. The library is located 500 m down the road on the right.
Or take line 42 (Papenberg) to the stop "Maria-Montessori-Weg".

From the city centre

The bus line 80 (Klausberg) from the city centre will take you to the stop "Waldweg". Then turn left to reach the Waldweg. The library is located 500 m down the road on the right.

The bus timetables can be found on the Göttinger Verkehrsbetriebe website (German user interface only).

By car

From the motorway A 7, take the exit "Göttingen Nord" and follow the feeder road to Hannoversche Straße. There you turn right towards "Stadtmitte". Continue on to Kreuzbergring and turn left. Continue on until you reach the third cross roads, and turn right into Waldweg. The library is located on the left.
