DGI-2

The BMBF-funded D-Grid program is establishing a national grid infrastructure to support future scientific environments and to secure Germany’s position as a business location for the long term. As part of the D-Grid initiative, the D-Grid Integration Project (DGI) established the technological grid platform for e-Science in Germany. Acting as an integrator of developments from both community projects and the integration project itself, the DGI serves as a provider of grid services and resources for the entire German scientific community.
The follow-up project, DGI-2, aims to expand the grid infrastructure created under DGI-1 and to safeguard the results achieved and investments made, thereby ensuring the long-term availability of a flexible, user-friendly, and robust platform for the German e-Science community.
