FID GEO

FID GEO is a project within the Specialised Information Services program funded by the DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) as a replacement the DFG-funded special collections Earth Sciences of the Göttingen State and University Library.
Partner is the Bibliothek Wissenschaftspark Albert Einstein (BWAE) of the Helmholtz Centre GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences. As a Centre of Competence the Special Information Service pursues the systematic reduction of structural deficits in electronic information resources for the Solid Earth Sciences and on the promotion of Open Access. Therefore we offer consultation and support persistent and citable electronic publishing to Earth Sciences departments and organizations. According to the requirements of the community we provide central repositories for publishing grey literature at the Göttingen State and University Library and data supplements at the BWAE awarding Digital Object Identifiers (DOI). A proposal for digitisation on demand of grey literature, copyright free books and maps to expand the availability of open accessible information resources is also included.
