Humanities Data Centre
The main goal of the Humanities Data Centre’s design phase is to achieve the conceptual foundation later serving as basis for the establishment of a sustainable research data centre for the humanities. The data centre will ensure the long term preservation of and access to research data from the variety of humanistic disciplines. Furthermore, it will provide tools and APIs for virtual research environments as well as counsel and training.
Alongside the GWDG, who is leading the consortium, Göttingen State and University Library (SUB Göttingen), the Göttingen Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Lower Saxony and the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity Göttingen (MPI MMG) are involved. Also three Berlin-based institutions are partnering in the project: the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities (BBAW), the ZuseInstitute Berlin (ZIB) and, as associated partner, the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science (MPI WG).
