Mediaconomy

The sub-project "Internet Economy of Science Communication" analyzes workflow alternatives for the web-based production and distribution of scientific information. Established traditional roles (e.g., author, academic publisher and editorial staff, reviewer, printer, intermediary) are dissolving due to the digital possibilities for content production and distribution, while classic quality assessment and selection processes are being challenged by the capabilities of the Internet.
