Libraries Day

Libraries Day will take place on 24 October 2026. The Göttingen University Library (SUB Göttingen) is also taking part with a varied programme of guided tours and talks.

Talks, guided tours, behind-the-scenes insights

Since 1995, Library Day has been held every year on 24 October. This nationwide day of action draws attention to the diverse roles and services offered by libraries and invites people to rediscover libraries as places of knowledge, education, research and culture.

The SUB Göttingen invites you

The Göttingen University Library (SUB Göttingen) is also taking part in Library Day and is opening its doors to a varied programme of events. Guidedtours and talks offer special insights into historical holdings and collections, the history of the library and the work that goes on behind the scenes. This provides an opportunity to get to know the SUB from different perspectives, from the historic building to the stacks and workshops.
